A Christian Charity responding to need, irrespective of ethnicity, colour or creed
Aid to Hospitals Worldwide collects outmoded medical and surgical equipment from more than 70 hospitals in the Eastern region. They then sort, repair, refurbish, test, pack and manifest the equipment so that it is ready for shipment to the developing world. No charge is made to any of the charities or voluntary agencies who receive the equipment. Aid to Hospitals Worldwide rely totally on gifts and donations from churches, and friends and all who have a heart for poverty and injustice in a hurting world.
Items can range from a single syringe to a complete operating theatre. Scanners, optical instruments, microscopes, beds, mattresses, dressings and more have been sent. However, this is not limited to medical aid, Aid to Hospitals Worldwide also send associated items such as spare parts and wheelchairs, walking frames, specially adapted bikes, drip stands, and scores of other basic hospital requirements.

Since Aid to Hospitals Worldwide more than 600 computers have been sent out. Many of these were donated by schools and businesses. Their I.T. section strips, wipes and cleans computers to Government standards, and then installs the international programme “Ubunto” so that the units are ready for use in hospitals and schools.
In our four years of operation Aid to Hospitals Worldwide have sent medical aid to 27 countries in three continents and have supplied scores of charities and other established organizations.
Clean beds have replaced ill equipped hospital wards, many lives have been saved with donated defibrillators, breast scanners, heart monitors, incubators and so much more.
Their newest ministry is links made with 2 prisons: HMP Blundeston - printing facilities. HMP Wayland - light engineering projects. Special adaptations are made to bikes. Inmates strip them down to making them suitable for work in the bush - nurses need modified bikes with panniers to carry medical aid. Wheelchairs too, are adapted and strengthened.
Aid to Hospitals Worldwide is entirely volunteer led. Willing hands come from all walks of life; some from local churches, others come from the volunteer centre. Everyone shared the common desire to do something meaningful for the less fortunate. They are also so proud of their team of behaviourally and educationally challenged people who come from a closed unit in Newmarket, they love the jobs and the feeling of self worth.
Aid to Hospitals Worldwide relieve demand on landfill sites by sending recycled equipment abroad and as a result are recognized by several environmental agencies. They are WEEE registered and hold a hazardous waste license.
